PAPER WASTE

Wealth Out of Waste (WOW)… A very eco friendly idea that our school had decided to adopt as it promotes recycling right from a young age.

We had taken up this initiative wherein every month, students have been encouraged to bring old and unnecessary papers for a good cause.

Badges had been handed out by the organization that created a buzz among the students as they proudly showed off their ‘WOW’s!!!

ITC Ramki had organized a function on 01.07.10 at the Nizam College grounds. The Chief Guest for the function was Dr.K.Rosaiah, Chief Minister, A.P. Awards were given away to students who segregated the maximum quantity of paper. The school received an award for their “Outstanding support to the WOW initiative”.

If this boost continues, imagine the change that can be brought about to save our environment.

A DEMOCRATIC RIDE

Everyone in the assembly stood holding their breath when the nominees for the posts of Head Boy and Head Girl had been announced. The suspense came to an end when the Principal called out the 2 deserving probables for the post of Head Girl.

The nominees with their supporters left no stone unturned during the campaign complete with placards, posters and wisely kept oaths. Classes VI to XII were democratically eligible to cast their votes on the polling day.

Rahul Nori, had undoubtedly been declared as the Head Boy, for the year, the much awaited results had been declared in favour of Shravya Gunipudi as the Head Girl. The ‘Investiture Ceremony’ concluded as the Chief Guest Sri.R P Thakur, IPS, I G P Warangal Region, invested the office bearers with their badges as the newly elected student council had been bestowed with the onus of leading the school.

BUTTERFLY FIELDS

Started by Dr.Micheal Gibbs and Ms.Peggy Gibbs, the Budding Entrepreneur Workshop, a 5 day Business competition for students of age group 12-16 years at ISB. This is held every year for the budding entrepreneurs.

Our school has extended this opportunity to the students for a wonderful experience to explore the business world.

12-14 students have registered for this workshop from our school, for a rewarding experience with cool, innovative ideas.

E-WASTE COLLECTION

Technology is every where it sits in the pocket, helps gets work done at office desk, provides entertainment at a click. Ubiquitous devices like TV’s, Computers, Laptops have become an indispensable part of our lives.

What is e-waste? E-waste or electronic waste refers to loosely discarded electronic products like obsolete computers, Mobile phones, telecom devices, etc. Improper disposal of e-waste could cause harmful impact on human as well as environmental health. The hazardous effect of e-waste necessitates implementable management measure. Our school has taken up the responsibilities of ensuring that we do our part to contribute to the economy. Inevitable e-waste should be sold or given to various organizations dealing in recycling of e-waste or rather “e-cycling”. Here, in Obul Reddy, this is done.
